Win the chance to train for an ultra marathon with expert ultra coach including free personal training sessions and a place on Race to the King, 53 miles along the South Downs Way on 24th and 25th June.

We have teamed up with Race to the King, to offer you the chance to train for and run your first ultra marathon with professional coach and ultra runner Kerry Sutton.

The winner must be fit enough to run a half marathon to ensure they can complete the training programme. This competition closes at midnight on Sunday 2nd April.

The prize includes an initial consultation with Kerry, four face to face coaching sessions, bespoke online training plans and the opportunity to Skype and text Kerry throughout the 12 week process as well as a non-stop place on Race to the King.

Race to the King is a double marathon along the South Downs Way to Winchester Cathedral, the burial place of the early kings of England. Now in its second year, the breathtaking route takes you along the South Downs Way past numerous historical sites with sweeping views north over the Weald and South out to sea over the English Channel. The event is excellent for first time ultra runners because it’s fully supported with regular pit stops, sign posting and medical support and there is a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Kerry, who ran Race to the King last year, has always loved sport. After the birth of her two children she found running was a quick and easy solution to shedding the post baby pounds. She started with 10km runs and sprint triathlons and loved the sense of achievement and freedom they gave her. After watching a programme on ultra running, she entered the Marathon des Sables and was hooked; she now finds herself setting herself ridiculous challenges and loves the thrill of seeing how far she can go.

“I particularly enjoy working with ordinary runners in their quest for personal goals,” says Kerry. “I have helped lots of people over a range of distances from 5km to ultra marathons. Race to the King might seem daunting, but many runners thrive in the non-competitive, encouraging atmosphere over a longer distance at their own pace in stunning surroundings. And, when you finish, it will give you a fantastic sense of achievement.”
