Sealskinz, the British Endurance Accessories manufacturer, has been confirmed as title sponsor for this year’s inaugural Wirral Ultra & Bike Ride.

Taking place on July 2nd, this 35 mile event uniquely combines an Ultra Marathon with a non-competitive bike ride meaning family and friends can enjoy the scenery and offer support en route.

The Sealskinz Wirral Ultra will follow the Wirral Circular Trail.  This is a relatively flat route, which makes it ideal for first timers or runners looking to set a PB.  It also opened up the possibility for supporters to get a new perspective as race organiser Andrew Vickerman explains, “We are always looking for ways to make races more accessible.  One thing we really wanted to do was find a route that would allow family and friends of the runners to participate alongside them.  The Wirral Ultra Route is ideal for this as 90% is off road and it’s relatively flat which makes cycling an easy option.”

This new sponsorship is part of an ongoing commitment from Sealskinz to support events that encourage participation as Matt Boyce, Brand Manager explains, “We are really pleased to support the Wirral Ultra and Bike Ride.  As well as promising to attract a very competitive field, it also brings new people to the Ultra arena and recognises the importance of making sports of all kinds more accessible and fun for everyone involved.”
