The organisers of the OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO have announced The Mission to Seafarers as an Official Charity Partner for the 2018 event which takes place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March 2018.

The Mission to Seafarers is a UK-based charity that operates internationally to provide help and support to seafarers around the globe. It has grown to become one of the largest port-based welfare operators in the world, providing a service in some 200 ports, 365 days a year, across 50 countries. The charity will be cooperating with the OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO in order to raise valuable funds, with a specific focus on the work of The Mission in Cyprus where it operates in the port of Limassol and helps seafarers regardless of nationality, culture or faith.

The cause is expected to be of particular interest to local runners who work in Cypriot-based shipping companies, as well as to international runners interested in combining running with a business trip to Cyprus.
